Day one – Nicola will be sharing how to use your tumble dryer to create wonderfully soft and supple flat felt without any of the traditional hard work rubbing and rolling! This technique is wonderful for anyone who might not be able to tackle larger projects due to health issues or time constraints. It’s the ideal way to felt scarves, wraps, table runners and wall hangings; participants will be able to choose whether they would prefer to felt a nuno wrap, decorative runner or wall hanging.
Day two – Explore with Nicola the fascinating and exciting art of printing on protein based fabric using natural materials from the hedgerow, kitchen and garden. Each participant will print the piece that they felted on day one, a silk scarf and learn how to create wonderful prints on paper as an added bonus!
The aim of this two day workshop is to have fun, create beautiful textiles and leave able to confidently repeat this felting and eco printing process at home. In order for each participant to have plenty of elbow room for the laying out stage of the felting process this event is limited to a maximum of 6 participants.
